Join me as I go out thrifting, in search of games and interesting goods at various discount shops! It's summertime and while it took a while to find stuff this episode, it was worth it.

  • Dear Sir, it is my hope you catch this post to you. I know this youtube Vid is quite old and you may have already been told about what the TRS-80 needs. Just in case you don't know. Your system needs a complete re cap and the internal battery MUST be replaced before disaster strikes the machine dead. I am a College educated old PC specialist, now retired. The TRS-80 was a great find, congratulations! God Bless and keep you. PS love your channel!

  • In the 70's my dad was living in the States for six or so years. He passed away this summer and we have been going through his stuff. We found a bunch of those accordion style postcards that he had sent over to his sisters and to my mom. My aunt told me that it was an easy way for him to keep in contact as it only has two short lines for a personal message and he mostly just wrote "Hello! -Rob" on any of them. It was just a way for him to let his family in Finland know that he was still alive in the great big world. He would also (apparently) stash money in between the folds to send it inconspicuously. It feels nice to see that even in the country where they originated from, those cards seem nostalgic. =)

  • So many memories. To start with, I was with an Army buddy when he assembled a TRS 80 Mod 1 from a bag of electronic parts and a diagram, fun times. The Mod 3, have you tried adjusting the vert adjustment, it looks like it is out of adjustment. The VCR in a bag was the heavy half of a VCR RECORDER. The camera plugged into the big black jack on the side. The first days of taping VS film, I still have my Sharp deck though I have no idea where the camera is.

  • 10:00 Oh wow, I think I bought that same model football game at a yard sale like 25 years ago. Pretty crazy seeing as if we google it now, nothing comes up. That thing must have dated from the early 1980s. I think it used a VFD display rather than LED, because it was pretty battery-hungry and also came with a wall adapter. 10:20 I know exactly what that weird "portable VCR" is all about. For a while in the early 1980s, when you bought a camcorder, the camera and the tape recording apparatus were separate units connected by a cord. And so what you have there is the tape recording component of an ancient camcorder.

  • You lucky dog you, found a TRS-80 model III, breaks my heart due too when I a teenager I was moving my TRS-80 was moving from upstairs to downstairs missed my grip and boom TRS-80 goes down the stairs and the tube gets smashed. Dang I wish I still had one of those. I got mine from an older person who was having a garage sale, it was the end of the day and no one was buying it. I seen it and asked my parents if I could get it due to me being a kid, to my supriese the guy was happy that as a kid I was interested and he gave it to me for free. well at least you found one and that is awesome way to go man. :'( :)

  • TRS-80: There are a couple of potmeters/trim wheels on the side apparently. If you clean the inside on those and adjust them, your display should work fine (according to SIMPLETINGSTOYS here on YT) Maybe you've done this already, but I can't find any videos from you on this piece.
